SignoPhoton's R&D focuses on structural health monitoring of composite materials. Detecting early-stage damage — such as cracks, delamination and adhesive de-bonding — improves both the safety and the reliability of the structures that depend on those materials.
Current work includes:
- High-spatial-resolution distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) with the precision needed to capture acoustic events caused by early damage in composite materials.
- High-spatial-resolution strain gauges and temperature sensors for SHM applications.
